CLARION, Pa. - The Clarion University women's swimming and diving team defeated the Shippensburg Raiders 167-128 Friday night at Tippin Natatorium. The Golden Eagles move to 2-1 on the season, including 1-1 in the PSAC.
The Blue and Gold cleaned up in the diving portion of the evening, making clean sweeps in both the one and three meter dives.
Emma Kehn took first overall in the one-meter recording a final score of 233.85.
Christina Sather was right behind her at 233.48, good enough for second. Sather also took first in the three-meter event.
The Eagles took care of business just as efficiently poolside, scoring first-place finishes in both the 1000-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke in the early going. Becca Yonek cruised to a win in the 1000, touching out almost a full 20 seconds before the number two place finisher.
Summer Dacheux managed to maintain a tight lead in the 100-back for the whole race, narrowly edging out Shippensburg's Carly Alvarado with a time of 1:00.42.
