CLARION, Pa., - The Clarion University men's basketball team was defeated at home Sunday afternoon against IUP by a final score of 70-52. The loss moves the Golden Eagles 5-13 on the season (3-10 PSAC). The Blue and Gold return to action January 25th when they hit the road to talker on Cal U.
BJ Andrews led the team offensively, finishing with a team-high 13 points to go along with four rebounds in 27 minutes of action. Cam Grumely led the Golden Eagles in assists with four, while Jamani Pierce finished with the team lead in rebounds with nine.

IUP was aggressive from the get-go, utilizing a high-tempo full-court press to stymie and confuse the Golden Eagles offensively. Although
Manny Powell finished 2/3 from behind the three-point line, the Golden Eagles as a whole shot just 3/15 from the arc all afternoon (20%).
Clarion would fight to keep things from getting out of hand against the powerhouse Crimson Hawks, but the IUP press proved too much of an obstacle for CU to overcome, as they gave up 28 points off of turnovers and went 11-22 from the free-throw line in the loss.
