SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Clarion women's swimming team dominated on Friday evening, defeating Shippensburg 124-81 in a dual meet on the road. The Golden Eagles will compete at Carnegie Mellon tomorrow afternoon.

It was all Clarion from the word jump, as the Golden Eagles took the top two spots in the 200 Medley Relay to open the proceedings. The quartet of
Summer Dacheux,
Mary Clare Smith,
Danielle Jellison and
Alexis Lopez raced out to a 1:53.29 finish to take the win, giving Clarion their first win of the night. Becca Yonek followed that up with an impressive win in the 1000 Free, besting Shippensburg's Maddy Verby by 23 seconds en route to the first place finish.Â

Lopez followed that up with a win in the 200 Free, cruising to a 2:00.47 finish and nine team points.Â
Letizia Collini capped the run of four straight event wins with a narrow victory in the 50 Free, edging Erin Fife with a time of 25.61 – just 0.06 ahead of the pack – for the win.

The Raiders claimed the next several events to pull tighter, but Dacheux and
Ava Arnold went 1-2 in the 100 Back to put their team back on track. Yonek was there with her second individual victory of the night, as well, winning the 500 Free with a time of 5:22.02. The 200 Free Relay team closed out the night with a win, as the grouping of
Kelsey Burke, Dacheux, Collini and Lopez finished the relay in 1:41.19.
