CLARION, Pa. – The Clarion volleyball team rebounded on Saturday with a dominant effort, sweeping Lock Haven 3-0 (25-19, 25-14, 25-14) at Tippin Gymnasium. The Golden Eagles (19-9, 10-5 PSAC) will close out their conference schedule next week, starting with a Tuesday night match at IUP.

Taylor Braunagel became just the second player in program history to top 1,500 kills in a career, finishing with 19 kills on 36 attempts for a .472 hitting percentage. Braunagel passed Kellie Bartman for second place on the all-time list at Clarion; Bartman finished her career with 1,497 career kills in 2011.

Defensively,
Catherine Ferragonio had a match-high 27 digs and was mart of an effort that held the Bald Eagles to a .017 hitting percentage.Â

Olivia Olson and Braunagel all recorded two blocks apiece.

A big run early in the first set put Clarion in the driver's seat as the Golden Eagles used a 12-4 rally to open up a 10-point lead on the Bald Eagles.Â
Christina Cotton made it 10-6 with a service ace, and eventually the advantage expanded to 16-7 after a kill by Olson. Punctuating the run was the duo of Vensel and
Sarah Boodjeh, who blocked Chloe Williams to put Clarion up 20-10. Lock Haven pulled in closer but eventually Olson put the set away with a kill, giving the Golden Eagles a 25-19 edge.

Lock Haven got off to a better start in the second but the Golden Eagles picked it up, taking a 16-8 lead on a kill by Glaser. Braunagel won the race to 20 with a kill that made it 20-13, and the advantage reached double-digits after Lock Haven's Paige Wolfe mishandled a set.Â
Shelby Coughenour entered the set late and delivered the winner, bouncing one from the left side to make it a 25-14 win. The third set played out much the same way, with Cotton acing Shaye Whiteman for a 16-7 advantage midway through the period. Olson and
Julia Zimmer made it a 10-point advantage with a block of Veronica Morrison, and Glaser put her team up 21-11 with a kill.Â
Aubry Ohlson had the match winner, putting away a kill at 25-14 for the win.
