Men's Hoops cruises past Penn State DuBois

CLARION, Pa. – Clarion men's basketball put up a dominating performance at home, cruising past Penn State DuBois 84-53 on Monday night.

Clarion improves their overall record to 3-8 while the Lions drop to 5-5.

The Lions jumped out to an early 5-0 lead just minutes into the game, but that would be their only lead of the night as the Golden Eagles stormed to a 40-24 halftime lead.

Freshman Mason Mraz put together another strong performance, pumping in 26 points on 10 of 15 shooting to go along with 8 rebounds and 6 steals.

Senior Cameron Grumley continued his steady play with 15 points and 5 rebounds in 31 minutes of work while Brandon Williams chipped in 13 points.

Rebounding was pretty even between the teams, with Clarion holding a small 37-35 advantage over the Lions.

The big advantage in the game came in the turnover department. The Golden defense was aggressive and pressed the Lions all night, forcing them into 24 turnovers, leading to 40 Clarion points.

Clarion will be back in action on Saturday, December 30th when they host Pitt-Johnstown in a PSAC contest. Tip-off is set for 3:00pm.
