INDIANA, Pa. – The Clarion women's swimming team closed out their fall semester with an exciting dual meet win on Saturday, defeating IUP on the road 119-86. The Golden Eagles are now 3-2 in dual meets this season.

After taking both the second and third place spots in the 200 Medley Relay to start the day, Clarion got its first win of the day in the 1000 Free.Â
Mary Clare Smith touched the wall in 10:54.54 for the first-place finish while
Kelly Harvey took third with a time of 11:32.14.Â

The Golden Eagles took three of the top four spots in the 50 Free, with
Kelsey Burke leading the way with a 25.89 to win the event.Â
Gabi Wayne took third with a 26.17 and Abbigale Newman was fourth with a 26.27.Â
Alexis Lopez followed that up with a win in the 200 IM, smoking the field with a 2:13.56 that was more than four seconds faster than the next closest competitor. The senior also won the 100 Breaststroke, finishing in 1:08.48.

The next big opportunity for Clarion to rack up points was in the 100 Back, with the duo of
Summer Dacheux and
Ava Arnold taking 1-2 in the race. Dacheux finished comfortably ahead of the pack with a time of 59.06, whereas Arnold overtook the Crimson Hawks' Jessica Cochran by less than a second, finishing in 1:03.02 for the points. The Golden Eagles pulled the same trick in the 500 Free, when Smith and Becca Yonek took the top two spots for 13 total team points and the virtual clincher over IUP.

Rounding out the day was the 200 Free Relay team of Dacheux,
Morgan Manglaviti,
Letizia Collini and Newman. The quartet easily won in the meet finale, posting a time of 1:41.05.
