EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa – Clarion women's volleyball dropped a 3-0 road decision to PSAC foe East Stroudsburg University on Saturday afternoon, 17-25, 21-25, 26-28.
The Golden Eagles drop to 1-1 in league play and 10-4 overall while East Stroudsburg evens its league record at 1-1 and improves to 9-3 overall.
After dropping the first two sets, Clarion pushed the Warriors to set point in the 3
rd. However, the effort would fall just short as East Stroudsburg scored three consecutive points to capture the third set and win the match, 3 sets to none.
Julia Holden (Brunswick, Ohio, Brunswick) tied for a game high with 12 kills, while teammate
Olivia Olson (Gibsonia, Pa., Pine-Richland) added 11 kills of her own. Setter
Leah Vensel (Erie, Pa., McDowell) added 34 assists to her season total to go along with three service aces.
Catherine Ferragonio (Irwin, Pa., Norwin) led the Golden Eagles with 23 digs on the afternoon.
Clarion will hold their season opener next Friday, September 29th when West Chester University comes to town. That contest will be a 7pm start.
