Soccer Comes to Scoreless Draw at Bloomsburg

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Playing in a key PSAC road contest, the Clarion soccer team managed a scoreless draw with Bloomsburg in a double-overtime affair at Steph Pettit Stadium.  The Golden Eagles (6-4-2, 5-3-2 PSAC) have another important conference game on the upcoming slate, when they host Edinboro at Memorial Stadium on Wednesday.

Goalkeeper Krista Mosi faced just two shots on net and made saves on both of them, as neither the Huskies nor the Golden Eagles were able to find the back of the net.  Counterpart Jenna Hawkins faced just one shot herself, an attempt in the 61st minute.

Clarion now has not given up a goal in any of the last four games.

That attempt came from Marina Kelly, the producer of one of only two shots for Clarion on the day.  Kelly's attempt forced Hawkins into her only save of the day.  The Golden Eagles' other shot came during the second overtime period, when McKenzie Sheesley ripped a shot high of the net in the 109th minute, the only shot of the extra session for either team.

Bloomsburg had a pair of corner kicks in the first overtime period, but both times the Golden Eagles repulsed the attempts.  Neither kick resulted in a shot attempt as Clarion was able to clear the ball away from danger.
