EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa – The women's soccer team closed their 2018 season Saturday night, falling to East Stroudsburg 3-2.
The Golden Eagles close 2018 with an overall record of 3-14-1 and 2-14 in the PSAC.
Clarion started the game hot, peppering the East Stroudsburg Goalkeeper, Mauri Jackson, with seven shots in the first half. Senior
Charlotte Allen led the way for the Golden Eagles in shots tallying 3 total.

East Stroudsburg was also powered by their offense, scoring two goals in the first half of the match. Danielle Cary scored her first goal of the season in the 19
th minute when she received a pass from Jules Sicker and beat the keeper Mosi bottom left to open the scoring. Monica Wood would find the back of the net in the 30
th minute, when she snuck a shot past Mosi top left, off of an assist from Alex Pickett. Pickett was in the right place at the right time in the second half when she scored her fifth goal of the season. Pickett redirected a rebound off of the crossbar in the 62
nd minute past Mosi to end the scoring for the Warriors.

The Golden Eagles made a push late to tie the game but fell short. Sophomore
Dani McNally scored just 3 minutes into the second half, when she took a pass from
Veronika Noyszewski and beat the Warrior keeper Mauri Jackson, upper ninety.

Noyszewski would add a goal of her own in the 89
th minute finding the back off the net on a long distance shot outside of the box. Â

Clarion ended the game with thirteen total shots. Senior Goalkeeper
Krista Mosi played all ninety minutes, finishing with eleven saves on the night. She ends her Golden Eagle career with over 350 career saves, good enough for third all-time in program history. Â
Coach Esterhuizen's squad will look to build on this season's success as they plan ahead for 2019.
