EDINBORO, Pa. - The Edinboro Fighting Scots scored two early first half goals to grab the win against the Clarion women's soccer team, winning by a final score of 3-0 on Wednesday.
Edinboro improves their overall record to 3-8-0 and improve their PSAC record to 2-8-0. Clarion falls to 2-9 overall, 1-9 in the PSAC.
The Fighting Scots started fast, scoring two goals in the first eight minutes of action. Rebecca Manns broke the tie when she found the back of the net just nine yards out. Brittnie Spithaler pulled the Fighting Scots ahead further just two minutes later when she scored on a forty yard blast over the hands of keeper Krista Mosi.
The Golden Eagles held Edinboro in check until the second half, when Sidney Dobbins put home a loose ball in front of the net to cap the scoring for the Fighting Scots.
Mosi had six saves on the night, and Mackenzie Sheldon and Cameron Rodriguez each had two shots on goal. The Golden Eagles totaled nine shots against Edinboro.
The Blue and Gold will be back in action on Saturday, October 6, when they take on Kutztown at Memorial Stadium at 7:30 p.m.
