INDIANA, Pa. – The Clarion men's swimming team dropped a dual meet on the road at Indiana University of Pennsylvania Friday evening, falling 176-85.
Junior
Joseph Folz paced the Clarion swimmers on Friday, winning the 200-yard Freestyle, the 50-yard Freestyle and the 100-yard Freestyle.
Folz took home the top spot in the 200 Free with a time of 1:45.04, just over two seconds ahead the 2
nd place finisher. A short while later he swam again, this time narrowly winning the 50 Free by less than two-tenths of a second with a time of 22.31. Folz would cap off his tremendous night just two events later, taking home the top spot in the 100 Free. He finished with a final time of 48.67
Teammate, and fellow junior
Josh Thruston also helped the cause, picking up two second place finishes. In his first event of the night, the 100 Back, Thruston finished with a final time of 59.29. After a short rest Thruston hopped back into the pool for the 200 Breaststroke. He touched the wall with a final time of 2:13.60, less than a second behind the first-place finisher
In the final event of the evening, the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Folz, Thruston,
Drew Canter and
Jacob Yant, captured a second-place finish with a final time of 1:27.67, good enough for four team points.
The Golden Eagles fall to 0-4 in dual meets on the season as they head into their winter training session.
