Ava Arnold won two individual events and helped the 200 Free Relay team to another victory as the Golden Eagle women's swimming team fell 159-103 at the Pidgeon Natatorium. Clarion (2-2) will travel to Florida for their winter training session in January.
The 200 Medley Relay team of Arnold,
Mary Clare Smith,
Autumn Fortney and
Letizia Collini started the night off with a close first place finish, beating the IUP "A" Team by less than a second with a final time of 1:50.80.
Arnold would go on to win the 100 Back with a final time of 1:00.93 good enough for nine team points. A few heats later she would find herself atop the podium once again, finishing the 200 Back with a final time of 2:12.91, almost three seconds ahead of Regan Chalk of IUP.
Becca Yonek got her first victory of the night touching the wall with a final time of 11:04.71 in the 1000 Free, almost 20 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. She would cap off her night with a second-place finish in the 500 Free, finishing with a final time of a 5:31.95, earning the team four points.
Gabi Wayne also had a successful evening in the pool, adding a second-place finish in the 200 Free with a final time of 2:01.36, while Collini touched the wall in the 100 Free with a time of 54.76 also good enough for second place.
To cap the night off, the 200 Free Relay team of
Abbey Newman, Wayne,
Kelsey Burke and Collini brought home 11 team points with a first-place finish. The quartet finished with a final time of 1:40.66 holding off the IUP "B" Team by less than a second.
