CLARION, Pa. – The Clarion volleyball team finished off an impressive three-day effort as host of the Tony Banner Memorial tournament by sweeping Cedarville 3-0 on Saturday.
The Golden Eagles made quick work of the visiting Yellow Jackets, winning in straight sets, 25-19, 25-11, 25-13 for their fifth win in a row.
Clarion won all twelve sets they played over the weekend and have now won their last 15 sets in a row dating back to a come from behind win over Lake Superior State a week ago.
On Saturday, it was once again junior
Julia Holden who paced the Clarion attack, recording 14 kills. Freshman Aubry Wrona capped an impressive weekend with nine kills and five aces while
Olivia Olson and
Lauryn Driscoll were solid up from contributing for all seven of Clarion's blocks.
Senior setter
Leah Vensel added 28 more assists to her season total while
Christina Cotton chipped in with 21 digs.
The Golden Eagle attack hit an impressive .348 on the afternoon while limiting Cedarville toa .044 hitting percentage.
Clarion will be off until next weekend when they travel to West Virginia to participate in a tournament co-hosted by Wheeling Jesuit and West Liberty University.
