MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Clarion men's swimming & diving team picked up its first win of the 2019 calendar year, defeating Allegheny 141-102 in Meadville on Friday night. The Golden Eagles will next be in action next week when they compete at the Western PA Invite hosted by Pittsburgh.
The Gators won each of the first two events on Friday, but Joe Folz responded with a win in the 200 Free to put the Golden Eagles back on track. Folz also won the 100 Free later in the evening, recording a time of 47.80.
Jacob Yant followed with a win in the 50 Free, topping Dalton Lodzins by .33 seconds for nine team points and the victory.
Tate Swanson took third in the event with a time of 23.35.
The streak continued in the 200 IM , with freshman Emmett Matthws pacing the field with time of 2:04.93.
Josh Thruston added a win in the in the 100 Fly, topping Allegheny's Rayshon Knight by more than three full seconds en route to touching the wall in just 52.66.
Chris Fenoglietto and
Frank Bevevino took third and fourth to rack up more points for the Golden Eagles.
Jimmy Connor rounded out the streak of consecutive wins with a victory in the 100 Back, finishing in 58.55 to lead the pack.
The 200 Free Relay team of Folz, Thruston,
Hayden Steiner and Yant rounded out the swimming events with a win, with Yant touching the wall at 1:29.41 to give the Golden Eagles the win.

Jonathan Hansotte finished 1-2-3 in both the 1m and 3m Dives ot round out the scoring.
