CLARION, Pa. – The Clarion women's basketball dropped a decision to Edinboro at home on Wednesday, falling 92-45 at the Student Recreation Center. The Golden Eagles (7-11, 1-10 PSAC) will remain at home this weekend when they host IUP on Saturday, January 26. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
Yndiah Bobo led the Golden Eagles with 16 points on 8-of-20 shooting, and also recorded team-highs with seven rebounds and two steals.
Taylor Moltz contributed seven points off the bench, while
Yasmin Lewis added six points and five rebounds.
The Fighting Scots controlled the glass with a 48-33 advantage in rebounding, including a 36-12 edge on their own end of the floor. Clarion shot just 28.1 percent from the field while Edinboro hit 51.5 percent of their shots. Neither team struggled with turnovers, as both the Golden Eagles and the Fighting Scots committed just 11 giveaways apiece.
Edinboro jumped out to a 9-0 run to start the game before
Haille Hart halted the field goal drought with a make at the 6:47 mark of the period. Bobo made a midrange jumper with 3:17 remaining to cut the lead to 18-7, but the Fighting Scots rode out the rest of the period en route to a 23-10 lead after 10 minutes.
Things persisted in that direction for the rest of the game as Edinboro steadily built their lead. The advantage reached 27 points at the halftime break thanks to a jumper by Ciara Rosten, with the bucket representing her 1,000
th career point. The Fighting Scots led by as many as 47 points in the third quarter and eventually led by as many as 49 in the fourth.
