Men's Hoops Falls to Kutztown

CLARION, Pa. - Kutztown's Tarojae Brake dropped a game-high 31 points as the Golden Bears rolled to a road victory over the Clarion Golden Eagles on Saturday afternoon, 88-65.

Clarion drops to 0-4 overall and 0-1 in the PSAC, while Kutztown improves to 2-3 and 1-0 in the PSAC.

It was a back and forth battle early on in the first half with Clarion and Kutztown trading the lead 14 times. It was the Bears who took control at the end of the first half building an eight point lead on 16-29 (55.17%) shooting from the field.
 
Stevan Rodriguez had the hot hand off of the bench finishing the first half with a team high 20 points. Rodriguez finished the game with a team high 25 points going 10-17 from the field to pace the Golden Eagle offense in 27 minutes of action.
 
The hot shooting Bears took control in the second half limiting Clarion to just 23 points on 15 of 35 shooting.

Clarion shoot 43.1% from the field for the game, however they just could not slow the Golden Bear attack. Kutztown shot an overwhelming 65% (11 of 17) from beyond on the arc on the day, including 31 of 64 from the field.

The Golden Eagles were led by Rodriguez, who had a team high 25 points and six rebounds in 27 minutes of work. Kaison Branch added 11 points, while grabbing a team-high eight rebounds. Guard Jarrod Stukes added nine points, Elijah Cottrill picked up eight points.

Clarion will be back in action Sunday, November 24, when they host the Golden Rams of West Chester. Tip-off is set for 3 PM.
