LINCOLN, Pa. – The Clarion women's basketball team wrapped their season-opening weekend on Saturday, falling by a 83-37 score to Lincoln (Pa.) on the road.  The Golden Eagles (0-2) will head back on the road on Wednesday to face West Liberty.

Celeste Ryman was the leading scorer for the Golden Eagles, posting 10 points aided in large part by a pair of three-pointers as well as a 4-for-4 performance at the free throw line.
Yndiah Bobo finished with nine points and five rebounds, while
Jada Smith added seven points and six boards.

Lincoln shot 47.9 percent from the field while holding the Golden Eagles to an 11-of-54 (.204) mark, and the Lions also outrebounded Clarion 53-36.

The Lions controlled action for large chunks of the first half, including a run late in the first quarter that extended their lead to 20-12 and a 21-4 streak in the second quarter that put them up 41-16.  Lincoln scored the first six points of regulation before the Golden Eagles cut into the lead on a make by Smith, and
Yasmin Lewis followed that up with a midrange jumper to slice it to two points.  Lewis kept it a one-possession game with a layup at the 5:00 mark of the first quarter, but Skydajah Patterson finished off an and-one on the next possession to push the lead back to 12-6, and Lincoln led 20-12 through the first quarter.

Lincoln extended their lead throughout the second quarter thanks to a big run midway through, and eventually built themselves a 45-17 lead as the teams headed to the locker rooms for the halftime break.  Things tightened considerably in the third quarter as the Golden Eagles kept pace with the Lions for the most part, starting with a three-pointer from Ryman 1:09 into the period.  The freshman added another trey later in the third, and the difference was just 23-18 for that 10-minute stretch.  The Lions kept Clarion at arm's length the rest of the way in the fourth quarter, outscoring them 15-2 to lock down the win.
