HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The Clarion tennis team finished up its week at the Spring Tennis Fest on Thursday afternoon, falling 7-0 to West Liberty at the Hilton Head Beach & Tennis Club to drop to 1-4 on the season. The Golden Eagles will return to action on March 30 when they host Seton Hill.

Alivia Arnold had the best battle of the day, going back and forth with Raissa Wagner in the No. 1 singles match. Arnold got the better of Wagner in the first set, defeating her 6-1 to put Wagner back on her heels. Wagner countered with a 6-3 win in the second set, setting up a decisive third set tiebreaker for the point. The two each had their moments in the third set breaker, with Wagner eking out a 10-7 win in the set to win the match.

The Hilltoppers opened up the match by taking the doubles point, taking all three matches on the court to take a 1-0 advantage in the team match. Arnold's match was the best of the day as West Liberty took the six singles matches on the courts, clinching the 7-0 victory with straight sets wins down the lineup.
