Tennis Opens the Season at Westminster

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Clarion women's tennis team opened play on Saturday, falling by a 9-0 score to Westminster. The Golden Eagles will be back in action when they head to the PSAC Championships in Bloomsburg starting on October 5th.
 
The day started with three doubles wins for the Titans, with Alexis Strouse and Katie Benson falling in the No. 1 doubles match to open the session. Kali Aughenbaugh and Hailey Germanoski battled but could not overcome Westminster pairing in falling 8-7 in the No. 2 match.
 
Margo Mason opened singles action with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Benson in the No. 1 match, and Strouse dropped the No. 2 singles match 6-1, 6-0 as the Titans clinched the overall team win. The final singles match to come off the court featured Sarah Kirmeyer and McKenna Robinson in the No. 5 match, with Robinson taking a 6-0, 6-2 decision.
