Jordan Agyemang added eight points and four boards.Â
Mason Mraz saw significant action off the bench playing 24 minutes and contributing six points and six rebounds.Â
Â
Clarion shot an impressive 50 percent from beyond the arc in the first half but would not be able to keep the pace in the second half.
Â
The Golden Eagles struggled on offense, shooting just 29.1 percent from the field and making just 16 shots over the course of the night. The teams went into the half tied at 28 all, but the hot shooting Rock shot 62 percent in the second half to build to pull ahead and run away with the result.
Â
Slippery Rock's Micah Till finished the night with a double-double, dropping 23 points on 7-11 shooting, adding 11 boards to go along with the hot hand.
Â
The Blue and Gold started the game on a 6-0 run. Cottrill banged a three off of the opening tip and
Kaison Branch followed that up with a trey of his own to build the Clarion lead.
Â
The Rock took the lead but was unable to pull away as the Golden Eagles kept it tight. After a good layup by
James Price to pull the team within one, Agyemang put his team back on top with a dunk over top of The Rock defender to make it 20-19.
Â
It remained a single-digit deficit until the remaining seconds of the half when Cottrill drove the lane and made a heavily contested layup drew the foul and converted the and-one to tie the game at 28.
Â
Slippery Rock picked up the pace through the second half, going on a 10-0 run to take all the momentum. Things carried on from there as The Rock continued to pull away, building a large lead and ultimately winning by 27 points.
