Ohio – The Golden Eagle men's basketball team fought through a tough day shooting the ball on the road, falling by a 72-49 score at Lake Erie on Saturday. Clarion (3-1) also struggled to rebound the ball as the Storm kept up their advantage throughout the game.

Lawrence Lemon scored a team-high 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the field, including a 2-of-4 mark from three-point range.
Steve Kelly came off the bench for eight points on 4-of-8 shooting.

Lake Erie won the war on the glass, out-rebounding Clarion 47-26Â, and also managed to shoot 50.0 percent from the field. Conversely, the Golden Eagles shot just 33.9 percent from the field.

The Storm led by double-digits at the end of the first half and never looked back, holding a 42-26 edge as the teams entered the locker room. Lake Erie started the game on an 8-2 run before
Connor Ferrell cut into the lead significantly midway through the period, starting with a three-pointer to make it 12-8. He scored again at the 13:25 mark to make it a two-point game. Lake Erie followed up with a big run of their own, eventually going up 32-17 after a Caleb Piks layup. Ferrell cut the lead down to 11 points with a pair of free throws at the 4:11 mark, but the Storm ultimately took at 16-point lead into halftime.

Things did settle down at the halftime break as the Golden Eagle defense became more effective in slowing the Storm's attack. Though Clarion trailed throughout the half, they limited the Storm to just 30 points in the final 20 minutes of action.
Gerald Jarmon started things off with a transition make in the paint, swiping the ball from Jonny Manning and taking it the other way for a bucket. Lemon cut the lead to 14 points at the 15:48 mark with a short jumper, pulling the Golden Eagles within 47-30.
