EDINBORO, Pa. - Hitting the road for a matchup against the Edinboro Fighting Scots, the Clarion Women's Swimming picked up their first win of the season with a 116-83 decision. The win moves the Golden Eagles to 1-2 overall on the season.Â
Celebrating senior day, the blue and gold wasted no time picking up a first place finish to start the day. The 200 Medley Relay team of Ava Arnold, Amanda Dial, Michaela Hinkson and Gabi Wayne raced to a 1:52.87 finish and 11 team points.Â
Grabbing first place victories in the next two events were Mary Clare Smith and Corina Paszek picking up nine team points each. Smith touched the wall with a final time of 11:18.68 in the 1000 free, while Paszek finished with a final mark of 2:19.51 in the 200 IM.Â

Continuing their dominance throughout the meet, the Golden Eagles picked up second place finishes in the 200 Free with Arnold touching the wall in a time of 2:04.89, while Wayne finished second in the 50 Free with a time of 25.67 and second in the 100 Free with a time of 56.10.
Arnold found herself on the winners podium a second time when she paced the field in the 100 Back, racing to a 1:00.61 finish and nine tema points.
Building on her distance performances from last week Smith picked up another first place finish in the 500 Free beating her competitors by almost six seconds.Â
Rounding out the individual events was Candice Chalus, Dial and Hailey Fry who swept the event with first through third finishes, while Chalus paced the event with a time of 1:10.27.
Finishing off the afternoon was the 200 Free Relay team of Jocelyn Buchheit, Paszek, Maddy Murphy and Kaitlynn Henninge who took second place and four team points.Â
The Golden Eagles will look to build on this performance when they make their return to the pool on February 27, when they compete in the Central Pennsylvania Invite.
