CLARION, Pa. – The Clarion women's soccer team fell 3-0 at home Saturday afternoon in their final game of the spring season to the visiting Gannon Golden Knights at Memorial Stadium.
The Golden Knights struck for a pair of second-half goals, but not before picking up what was the game winning goal in the first twi minutes of action. Taylor Lewis beat keeper
Brynn Markley left to add the first goal taking all the momentum for the rest of the game.
The Golden Knights Kayla Bevacqua added a goal in the 59
th minute to extend the lead to 2-0 and put the game out of reach for the Golden Eagles. Diante Scheepers put the icing on the cake in the 85th minute notching one more Gannon goal pushing the score to the final 3-0.
The Clarion offense got off to a slow start but picked up the pace in the second half, recording three total shots, two of which were on goal.
Freshman
Kylee Cross led Clarion with one shot on goal, while
Kayla McNamara and
Abigail Sullivan also added shots to the scoresheet.
Markley played all 90 minutes in net, registering four saves.
