CLARION, Pa. --- Freshman
Luna Vejarano broke a pair of pool records in her first collegiate competition, highlighting an impressive start to the season at the Clarion Fall Classic on Friday evening. The Golden Eagle men's and women's divers opened up the two-day invitational that will continue on Saturday with the swimming events.

Vejarano provided some of the biggest highlights of the day, hitting an NCAA qualifying mark while also notching a pair of pool records in her first ever meet at Tippin Natatorium. The freshman posted a score of 290.70 in the 1-Meter (6 Dives) and a mark of 488.63 in the 1-Meter (11 Dives), both of which represented pool records in the renovated Tippin Natatorium. Vejarano also hit an NCAA qualifying mark in the 3-Meter (6 Dives), winning the event with a score of 279.08.

Two other Golden Eagle divers hit NCAA qualifying marks on Friday, with
Alexa Gonczi and
Anna Vogt starting the process of qualifying for the national championships later this year. Gonczi placed second to Vejarano in the 3-Meter (6 Dives), scoring a 269.18, while Vogt was second in the 1-Meter (11 Dives) with a score of 418.50.

On the men's side,
Jordan Morret won both the 1-Meter and 3-Meter competitions on Friday night, scoring 250.35 and 257.85, respectively.
Jack Beattie was second in both, while
Andrew Cestra took third.
