CLARION, Pa. --- The Golden Eagle men's swimming & diving team returned home for a dual with Ashland on Friday, with Clarion getting back in the win column with a 128-77 victory over the Eagles at Tippin Natatorium.

The Golden Eagles started with a 1-2 punch in the 200 Medley Relay, taking the top two spots in the event ahead of Ashland's relay team. The unit of
Dominic Cortopassi, Paul Flower,
Trent Napholz and
Austin Prokopec paced the field with a time of 1:36.92, while the foursome of Aiden Mohren,
Joe Feiser,
Mason Irwin and
Ryan Ehlers took second with a mark of 1:38.49.

The Eagles took the top spot in the 1000 Free, but Clarion responded with a dominant victory in the 200 Free.
Connor Cary won the event with a PSAC-qualifying mark of 1:44.43.
Mason Peck took second in the 50 Free with a time of 22.58, also good for a conference qualifier, and the Golden Eagles took places three through seven in the event to rack up the points.

David Bocci put the Golden Eagles back in the winner's circle with a victory in the 200 IM, posting a time of 1:56.11 to lead the field, while
Michael Lintelman took third with a time of 2:01.25. Clarion then went one through three in the 100 Fly, with Cortopassi leading the way with a time of 51.29. Bocci was right behind him at 51.37 and Prokopec took third in 53.59.

Cary went on to win the 100 Back, leading the way with a time of 53.95 in the penultimate solo event of the night.
Ty Rabenstein won the last individual event of the evening, leading the 500 Free with a mark of 4:52.62. That set the stage for another 1-2 finish in a relay, as the Golden Eagles took both top spots in the 400 Medley Relay. Cary, Prokopec, Cortopassi and Bocci led the way with a time of 3:13.47, while the foursome of Napholz,
Nolan Songer, Irwin and Peck took second with a time of 3:16.52.

In the diving events,
Jack Beattie set a new pool record in the 1-Meter Dive, winning the event with a score of 306.70 that was good enough for his first NCAA qualifying mark.
Jordan Morret and
Zach Schering both hit their first NCAA qualifying marks in the 3-Meter Dive, finishing with scores of 322.40 and 319.00 respectively. It was the first event back for Schering, who struggled through injuries in the early portion of the season.
