CLARION, Pa. --- The Golden Eagle women's swimming & diving team got right back into the win column with a solid effort against Ashland on Friday night, with Clarion defeating the Eagles by a score of 141-62 at Tippin Natatorium.

Clarion started the evening out with a tremendous 1-2-3 finish in the 200 Medley Relay, taking the top three spots in the event to sweep every single available point. The foursome of
Stella Chierico,
Hailey Fry,
Hannah Greenway and
Madelynn McTeer took home the top spot, finishing in a time of 1:50.58. They were followed by
Maria Wold,
Jocelyn Buchheit,
Michaela Hinkson and
Corina Paszek, who took second with a time of 1:55.59.

Joslyn Jurski won the Golden Eagles' first individual event of the night, pacing the field in the 1000 Free with a time of 11:13.09. That was followed by a 1-2 finish in the 200 Free, with Hinkson and
Jordan Kutchak taking the top two spots in that event. Hinkson finished win a time of 2:01.59 while Kutchak touched the wall in 2:02.08. Clarion continued that three-event run with the top three finishers in the 50 Free; McTeer finished in a time of 25.39, followed by
Haley Miller's 25.83 and
Sydney Updegrave's 26.69 to give the Golden Eagles 16 team points.

Ashland featured the winner in each of the next two individual events, but Clarion got back into the winner's circle when Greenway took first in the 100 Free with a time of 54.44. Kutchak (57.04) and
Mandy Dial (58.18) took third and fourth to rack up a slew of points for the Golden Eagles. That gave way to the top-four finishers in the 100 Back, with Chierico (1:00.98) leading a contingent of Golden Eagles toward 18 out of 19 possible points.

Clarion closed out the night in the 400 Free Relay, taking the top two spots in the event to put up a slew of points. Jurski, Kutchak, Miller and Greenway were the top finishers in the event, posting a time of 3:44.73, while the foursome of
Emma Dorsey, Dial,
Maddy Murphy and Paszek took second with a time of 3:52.26.

In the diving events,
Alexa Gonczi set a new pool record in the 3-Meter Dive, breaking the mark set by Luna Vejarano in a meet earlier this year. Gonczi scored a 292.05 in the event to take first in the event. Vejarano, meanwhile, won the 1-Meter Dive with a score of 287.20.
