PITTSBURGH, Pa. --- The Golden Eagle men's and women's swimming & diving teams performed well at the Carnegie Mellon Diving Invitational on Saturday, with one athlete hitting an important NCAA qualifying mark as well as a slew of high placements for the entire squad.

In the Men's 3-Meter Dive (11 Dives),
Zach Schering hit his second NCAA-qualifying mark of the season, earning himself a spot to the pre-qualification meet at this year's NCAA Division II Championships later this year. The sophomore had an impressive day in the event, posting a score of 463.00 to take third in the crowded field.

Just behind Schering in the standings was
Andrew Cestra, who placed fifth in the event with a score of 443.00.
Jordan Morret and
Jack Beattie rounded out the top-10 in the field with ninth- and tenth-place finishes, respectively, with Morret scoring 414.10 and Beattie 404.25.

On the women's side, freshman
Luna Castellanos was the top finisher for the Golden Eagles in the 1-Meter Dive (11 Dive) event, taking second in the field of 33 with a score of 443.65.
Anna Vogt was not far behind her, taking sixth overall with a score of 379.55.
Alexa Gonczi was just one spot back of that, placing seventh with a 367.70.

Liz Brand placed 16
th in the field with a 336.35, and was followed by
Bria Lewis and
Meghan Keppler further down the line.
Morgan Lukaesko also competed on Saturday, scoring a 121.00 in a six-dive program on the one-meter board. Â
