Football Puts Four on Academic All-District List

CLARION, Pa. --- The 2022 Academic All‐District Football Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student‐athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. This year the Golden Eagle football team featured four players on the Academic All-District squad.
 
Legend Davis (3.56 – Criminal Justice Adminstration) started all 11 games in the secondary for the Golden Eagles in 2022. The sophomore safety has picked off five passes in his two years and 21 games in the Blue & Gold.
 
Drew Blon (3.71 – MBA) was a 2021 Academic All-District selection and the team's 2022 National Football Foundation (NFF) Central PA Chapter Scholar-Athlete nominee. He converted from defensive back to linebacker and finished second on the team in tackles and tackles for loss, and also recorded two interceptions this year.
 
Jason Lookenbill (3.94 – Speech Pathology and Audiology) started at tight end and at long snapper for the Golden Eagles in 2022. He finished his collegiate career as a multiple-time Clarion Scholar-Athlete and PSAC Scholar-Athlete.
 
Khalil Owens (3.62 – Sport Management) was a Second Team All-PSAC West selection for the Golden Eagles in 2022, one year after achieving the same feat. He recorded 1,001 combined rushing/receiving yards this year, making him the first Golden Eagle back to do so since Delrece Williams in 2015.
