CLARION, Pa. --- The 2022 Academic All‐District Women's Volleyball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student‐athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. This year, the Golden Eagle volleyball team placed four student-athletes on the Academic All-District team.
Academic All‐District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All‐America ballot. First‐, second and third‐team Academic All‐America honorees will be announced in late December.
Alyson Peters (4.0 – Nursing) was named the 2022 PSAC Champion Scholar, given annually to the player with the top GPA competing in the PSAC championship that season. She ranked among the conference's leader's in attack percentage among qualifying players, and was second on the Golden Eagles in blocks. She set offensive career highs essentially across the board in 2022.
Julia Piccolino (3.85 – Communications) was a 2021 Third Team Academic All-America selection and this year enjoyed her best season on the court, earning Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-Region honors as well as First Team All-PSAC West honors. She ranks among the conference and regional leaders in attacking and last week was named to the NCAA Atlantic Region Tournament team.
Abigail Selfridge (4.0 – Nutrition and Fitness) has been a mainstay on the Golden Eagle back line, starting at libero in each of the last two years and leading Clarion in digs. Earlier this season she reached the 1,000-dig mark in her career, and helped the Golden Eagles to their first regional final 2010.
Cassidy Snider (3.50 – Early Childhood Education) has been one of the most dangerous attackers in the nation in the last two years, and is now a two-time First Team All-PSAC West selection at outside hitter. Last week she was named a D2CCA Second Team All-Region pick, after she ranked 19
th in the nation in kills per set.
