SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. --- The Golden Eagle women's swimming & diving team continued their unbeaten streak to start the dual season, defeating conference opponent Shippensburg 134-70 on Friday night.

The Golden Eagles started with an impressive double-dip in the 200 Medley Relay, as Clarion's "B" squad of
Sydney Updegrave,
Mandy Dial,
Michaela Hinkson and
Haley Miller edged the "A" quartet of
Stella Chierico,
Jocelyn Buchheit,
Emma Dorsey and
Hannah Greenway by mere hundredths of a second. The former touched the wall in a time of 1:53.42, beating the latter to the punch by 0.03 seconds.

Joslyn Jurski took the stop spot in the 1000 Free, finishing with a PSAC cut of 10:54.98, while
Erika Zimmerman took third place in the long-distance event with a mark of 11:31.04.
Madelynn McTeer hit a qualifying mark in the 50 Free, winning the event with a time of 25.40, while
Ava Rosely took second and just missed the cut with a time of 26.01.
Maria Wold followed up in the ninth of the night, winning the 200 IM by three-tenths of a second with a time of 2:16.17.

Clarion stacked up points in each of the next three events, placing the top-two in two of them and the top-three in another. Dorsey and Hinkson went 1-2 in the 200 Fly, finishing in times 2:11.65 and 2:14.91 respectively. Both times represented PSAC qualifying marks. Greenway and McTeer were the next to finish 1-2 in an event, touching the wall in the 100 Free in times of 54.99 and 56.19 respectively. Both of those also represented conference qualifying marks. Wold and Chierico both hit PSAC cuts in the 200 Back with times of 2:12.73 and 2:15.07, while third-place finisher Updegrave just missed with her time of 2:17.45.

The Golden Eagles finished off their night with a dominant effort in the 200 Free Relay, taking the top three spots in the relay. The squad of Miller, McTeer, Rosely and Greenway paced the field with a time of 1:40.99, and just behind them was the Clarion "B" squad of
Corina Paszek, Chierico, Jurski and
Jordan Kutchak. Rounding out the top-three was the quartet of Wold, Hinkson, Updegrave and Dial, who finished with a mark of 1:46.18.
