AKRON, Ohio --- The Golden Eagle men's swimming & diving team broke the program record for the 200 Medley Relay, highlighting a strong first day at the Zippy Invite hosted by Akron. The field at the meet is comprised primarily of Division I opposition, yet the Golden Eagles showed well against the high-level competition.

The quartet of
Connor Cary,
Paul Flowers,
David Bocci and
Austin Prokopec topped the previous school record in the 200 Medley Relay, taking 13
th in the field with a time of 1:31.36. That broke the previous record set by Ben Spencer, Ian Lindsay, Josh Thruston and Robert Hacku, a time of 1:32.19 set in 2016.

Also competing in the 200 Medley Relay was
Aidan Mohren,
Joe Feiser,
Dominic Cortopassi and
Nolan Songer. That squad took 15
th with a time of 1:34.14.

That relay finish highlighted Clarion's night, but it did not conclude it. The foursome of Cary, Cortopassi,
Mason Irwin and Bocci took 12
th in the 800 Free Relay with a time of 6:47.30. They were followed closely by the grouping of
Mason Peck, Prokopec,
Ryan Ehlers and
Ty Rabenstein, who took 13
th with a time of 6:53.80.
