AKRON, Ohio --- The Golden Eagle women's swimming & diving team kicked off the 2022 Zippy Invite on Thursday evening, competing in a pair of relays and acquitting themselves well in a field of Division I opposition. Clarion scored 108 points on the first night of action, putting them in seventh place.

The day started with the 200 Medley Relay, and the Golden Eagle foursome of
Stella Chierico,
Mandy Dial,
Hannah Greenway and
Madelynn McTeer showed well in taking 19
th place. That quarter finished with a time of 1:46.05, their fastest mark of the season and close to an NCAA "B" cut. Just behind them was the group of
Sydney Updegrave,
Hailey Fry,
Emma Dorsey and
Haley Miller, who finished in a time of 1:50.89.

That was followed by the 800 Free Relay, another instance where the Golden Eagles went off for a standout time.
Joslyn Jurski,
Maria Wold,
Michaela Hinkson and
Jordan Kutchak took 19
th in the event with a time of 7:45.57, followed by the group of Miller,
Corina Paszek, McTeer and Dial. The latter finished with a time of 8:01.53.
