JACKSON SPRINGS, N.C. – The Golden Eagle men's golf team returned to action for the start of their spring season on Friday, placing 14^th in the field after one day at the Brown Golf Intercollegiate hosted by Mercyhurst. Clarion carded a team score of 317 at the Foxfire Resort Red Fox course in the opening round. The field features nearly 150 golfers from across 20 institutions.
 
Nick Giambrone as the top finisher for the Golden Eagles on Friday, tying for 42^nd with a round of 77 (+5). Ryan Robinson and Creighton Carter tied for 73^rd with scores of 80 (+8), while Willie Hoover rounded out Clarion's scoring on the day by finishing one stroke behind them, at 81 (+9).
 
The fifth-place finisher for the Golden Eagles was Teagan Gray, who shot an 85 (+13).
