KUTZTOWN, Pa. –
Jenna Uncapher and
Leah Perry polished off the second half of the Heptathlon with a trio of standout performances, with the duo placing fifth and eighth respectively at the Mondschein Multi. Uncapher finished with a score of 4,247 – one of the best in program history – while Perry recorded a score of 3,567.
For Uncapher, the overall score solidified her standing in the program's all-time record book. Her previous PR was a 4,053 set last season, but she blew away that mark in 2022 with a new PR. Uncapher's 4,257 will replace her current standing for third place on the program's all-time performance list in the event. She becomes the first Golden Eagle to score more than 4,300 points in the Heptathlon since Kristen Belko in 2016.
The second day of the event started with the Long Jump, with Uncapher setting a mark of 4.91m and Perry a mark of 4.79m. Uncapher's mark ranked as the fourth-best among the athletes there, while Perry's came in seventh overall. That gave way to the Javelin, with Uncapher throwing the implement 29.66m and Perry 22.19m. That placed Uncapher fifth in the field, and Perry ninth.
The final event of the day was the 800m, with Uncapher cross the finish line in 2:31.96 and Perry in 2:45.04. Uncapher's time was the third-best in the field.
