ERIE, Pa. – The Golden Eagle women's golf team kicked off their final tournament before the conference championship on Friday, finishing the first round at the Gannon Spring Invitational. Clarion shot a team score of 401 at Whispering Woods Golf Club, putting them in seventh after 18 holes.
Leading the way for the Golden Eagles was
Sylvia Stibley, who tied for 38
th in the field with a round of 93 on Friday. The next two golfers on the leaderboard for Clarion were separated by just two strokes, with
Samantha Huth tying for 45
th with a score of 97. Just a pair of strokes behind her was
Taylor Galigher, who shot a 99 for the third-place mark on the team.
McLain Alt rounded out the scoring for Clarion on Friday with a 112, while
Emily DeMartino was just behind her at 117.
Also competing for Clarion was
Lauren McGrady. She fired a 115 on Saturday to take 56
th in the field.
