GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Golden Eagle softball team fell in a pair of low-scoring decisions on Friday afternoon, dropping games of 5-3 and 2-0 to Seton Hill in Greensburg.

Game 1: Seton Hill 5, Clarion 3
Recap: The Griffins did nearly all of their damage in the first inning, with Morgan Toal hitting a three-run homer and Grace Paredes adding an RBI double to make it 4-0 in the early going.
Brooke Cline scored on an error in the top of the fourth inning to put Clarion on the board for the first time, and then drove in a pair of runs with a double to left center in the fifth, making it 4-3.

Seton Hill increased their lead to 5-3 on an RBI groundout by Morgan Ryan, giving them insurance heading into the final inning. Ryan was also able to hold the Golden Eagles off the board for the final two innings, locking up the win.

Chelsea Liroff entered the game in relief and had an outstanding appearance, holding the Griffins to just three hits and one run in 5.2 innings of work.
Alyssa Stitt and Tori Martano both added base knocks.

Game 2: Seton Hill 2, Clarion 0
Recap: Starters
Kendyl Switzer and Chloe Elliott traded zeroes through each of the first three innings, with the few blemishes on Switzer's ledger coming in the fourth and fifth innings. Brooklyn Fukushima bunted Jenna Osikowicz across for a score in the former, and Osikowicz hit an RBI single to left in the fifth to give Elliott a 2-0 lead.

Elliott scattered four hits across her seven innings, including a two-out single by
Billie Aguglia in the top of the seventh. Switzer, meanwhile, allowed just six hits and walked only one in 6.0 innings of action. Cline,
Hannah Norton and
Desi Allen also recorded hits.
