WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Golden Eagle men's golf team returned to action after a lengthy layoff on Monday afternoon, placing 11^th in the field in the first round at the Edwin Cottrell Invitational hosted by West Chester. Clarion shot a team score of 328 on Monday, placing them 11^th in the field.
 
Nick Giambrone was the top finisher for the Golden Eagles on the first day, tying for 18^th in the field of 68 golfers with a score of 78 on Monday. Willie Hoover and Ryan Robinson were just behind him, tying for 43^rd overall with scores of 83.
 
Just one stroke behind them and rounding out the scoring for Clarion was Will Meyer, who carded a round of 84. Creighton Carter shot an 87.

Action will resume at Penn Oaks Golf Club on Tuesday morning at 9 a.m.
