Track & Field Wraps Up Weekend at PSAC Outdoors

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Golden Eagle track & field team concluded their 2021-22 season on Saturday afternoon, with a scoring performances in the field highlighting the final day of the 2022 PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Clarion finished 14th at the conference meet with a total of 20 team points scored.

One of the highlights of the day came in the High Jump, with Sadie Leisinger and Jenna Uncapher both reaching the podium with standout jumps. Leisinger uncorked the best jump of her collegiate career – indoors or outdoors – by clearing the bar at 1.59m, placing fifth in the PSAC. That topped her previous PR of 1.57m set indoors earlier this year at Edinboro. Uncapher had a strong leap of her own, hitting a mark of 1.54m to place seventh in the conference.

The other major highlight in the field was the performance of thrower Shelly Jones, who pulled off a huge PR in the Shot Put to take eighth place in the event. Jones put the shot 12.98m, shattering her previous outdoor PR of 12.81m set at last year's conference championship. It also moved Jones from fifth on the program's all-time performance list to fourth, putting her ahead of Carol Cress's 12.89m throw in 2012.

Another jumper cracked the top-eight in the conference as well. Delaney Beard placed seventh in the Triple Jump, hitting a mark of 10.96m. Meanwhile, Autumn Pettinato placed 12th in the Javelin, throwing the implement 36.40m for a new PR.

One the track, Haley Schaller competed in the final individual PSAC championship event of her career, placing 13th in the 5000m with a time of 18:56.72. Gabby Kutchma placed 18th in the 1500m, hitting a time of 5:00.72. The 4x400m Relay Team of Mackenzie Carver, Alice Fernald, Autumn Pettinato and Jenna Uncapher placed 13th with a time of 4:12.20.
