LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Golden Eagle track & field team completed their final tune-up before the 2022 conference championships, competing at the LHU Qualifier hosted by Lock Haven.
In the field,
Delaney Beard was the victor in the Triple Jump, pacing the field of nine. The sophomore jumper hit a mark of 11.07m, just shy of a quarter-meter ahead of Bloomsburg's Ashley Blannard and good enough for the victory.
Emily Lodge logged a fourth-place finish in the same event, hitting a season-best mark of 10.30m, and also placed fourth in the Long Jump by clearing 4.79m on her second jump of the day.
In the mid-distance events,
Alice Fernald placed third in the 800m, following up on last week's PR in the event with another strong performance. Fernald crossed the finish line in 2:25.27, less than a quarter of a second behind IUP's Tori James for second place.
Kaylen Sharrow qualified for the finals in the 100H, winning the second heat of the prelims with a time of 17.27. That led to a huge improvement in the final, with Sharrow placing fourth overall with a time of 16.90. Sharrow also competed in the 200m, finishing in 28.04. In other sprinting events,
Antonia Fenice took 13
th in the 100m with a time of 13.58, and the 4x100m Relay Team took third with a time of 51.95.
