GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Golden Eagles men's golf team finished off a strong day at the Grove City Invitational on Thursday, finishing fourth in the field with a score of 313. Clarion will stay in action the remainder of the weekend with a two-day stay at the Evann Parker Memorial Invitational hosted by Mercyhurst.
 
The day gave the Golden Eagles a preview on what they could expect later in the season. Clarion will host their Hal Hansen Invitational at Grove City Country Club later this fall.
 
Ryan Robinson and Joey Vitali tied for the team lead on Thursday, with the pair each finishing with scores of 77 to tie for 12^th in the field. Robinson logged two birdies and 10 pars in his round to reach that score, while Vitali logged just one birdie but contributed 12 pars.
 
Finishing just one stroke behind that pair and tying for 17^th in the field was Hayden Siegel, who posted birdies on Nos. 16 and 18 to hit 78 for the round. Will Meyer was fourth on the team with an 81, posting birdies on Nos. 1 and 11 and tying for 27^th in the field. Hunter Woodward contributed an 84 on the day.
