Women's Golf Takes Fifth at Kutztown Fall Invitational

FLEETWOOD, Pa. --- The Golden Eagles women's golf team completed action at the Kutztown Fall Invitational on Monday afternoon, with Clarion placing fifth in the field after shooting just a handful of strokes behind their first round score. They carded a team score of 361 on Monday, just three strokes back of their 358 on Sunday.

Sylvia Stibley made a sizable jump on the individual leaderboard with a three-stroke improvement, finishing her second round with an 85 for a two-day score of 173. She placed 10th overall in the field as a result. She finished with no birdies on the day but posted seven pars and generally avoided any big numbers on her scorecard, never shooting worse than double-bogey on any hole.

McKayla Kerle hovered right around where she shot on Sunday's round, posting a 91 on Monday. Her two-round score of 181 tied her for 18th in the field, one spot ahead of Hailee Liptak, who went 90-92-182 in two rounds. That gave Clarion three finishers in the top-20 in the field.

Hannah Smith was Clarion's fourth-lowest scorer on Monday, shooting a 93 to represent a two-stroke improvement on her previous round. Samantha Huth finished fifth on the day but fourth over the course of two rounds, shooting a 97 on Monday to end up tied for 22nd.
