Men's Golf 8th After Two Rounds at PSAC Championships

Lebanon, Pa.--- The Golden Eagles finished day two at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship with a score of 326, tying their score from the intitial round. After 36 holes, Clarion sits in eighth in the standings at Iron Valley Golf Club with a team score of 652, keeping them three strokes ahead of West Chester in the standings.
 
Of Clarion's five competitors at the Championship, three finished the day with scores of 81. Ryan Robinson was one of those three competitors, shooting an 81 on Saturday to move into a tie for 19th place after two rounds of action.  On the front nine, Robinson finished three over par including a birdie on hole two, including four pars. With two more birdies today, Robinson currently sits at second for total birdies in the competition with seven.

Freshman Brennan Karalfa also finished day two with a score of 81, putting his two-day score at 163. He currently sits tied for 29th on the leaderboard. The freshman shot his only birdie on hole seven, a 535-yard par five. Will Meyer improved by four strokes from day one, finishing with a round of 81. He started the day with four straight pars, finishing the front nine with six total. On the back nine, he finished with two birdies on holes 14 & 16, including three other pars. Meyer is currently in 40th place.

Chase Smith saw the biggest improvement among the Golden Eagles from day one to day two. The freshman finished round two improving his score by seven strokes shooting an 83 on the day. He started the round with four straight pars finishing with a seven total on the day. He carded two birdies on holes 12 & 16. After two days, he sits at 45th on the leader board with a two-day score of 173.
 
The Golden Eagles will be back on the course tomorrow as they wrap up the 2023 PSAC Championships.
