Clarion, Pa.--- The Golden Eagles women's swimming and diving team earned their second win of the year with a dominating 200-23 victory over Allegheny. A Golden Eagle finished first in all 11 events, and in many events, the Golden Eagles swept the top three spots.
The day started off with the 200-yard Medley relay, which saw Clarion take the top three spots. The winning quartet of Joslyn Jurski, Ava Rosely, Hannah Greenway, and Amanda Fetsko finished four seconds ahead of the next group with a time of 1:49.25. The next event was the long-distance 1650 Free, which saw freshman Allison McMurray pace the group with a time of 19:06.83, 11 seconds faster than the second-place finisher.
In the 200-yard Free, Joslyn Jurski came from behind in the final two laps to edge out teammate Amanda Fetsko. The next event featured two Golden Eagles in the top three, seeing Hannah Greenway earn a victory in the 50-yard Free touching the wall just before Allegheny's Olivia Kraus. The 200 IM featured another event that saw the Golden Eagles finish with the podium positions, with Emma Dorsey touching the wall just hundredths of a second before teammate Maddy McTeer.
Joslyn Jurski's third victory of the night was in the 100-yard Back, another event that saw the Golden Eagles sweep the top three positions. In another long-distant event, freshman Sarah Grimenstein would pace the 500-yard Free defeating the second-place finisher by ten seconds.
The 100-yard Breast had an exciting finish that saw Emma Dorsey narrowly edge out teammate Maddy McTeer by two-tenths of a second with times of 1:11.73 and 1:11.97. In the final event of the night, Clarion saw their "A" group win the 200-yard Free relay with a time of 1:40.72, three seconds ahead of the second-place quartet.
The Clarion diving team was also in action today. Luna Castellanos finished with the highest score of the four Golden Eagle competitors in the 3M dive, with a score of 293.18. In the 1M dive, Kaitlyn Madigan would take the top spot among the five Golden Eagle divers with a final score of 262.05.
