CLARION, Pa.--- The men's swimming and diving team upended Shippensburg at Tippin Natatorium by a score of 147-84. Clarion swimmers finished with seven victories through the night.
Tonight's meet started with the 200-Medley relay, in which Clarion's quartet of Connor Cary, Henry Miller, David Bocci, and Austin Prokopec was victorious with a time of 1:34.64, three seconds faster than the group in the second. In the 200 Free, the Golden Eagles finished in the top two times, with Gavin Guckavan edging out Prokopec by just 30 seconds.
The 200 IM was another event where Clarion swimmers were able to secure top two finishes, which saw Cary pace the field with a time of 1:58.53, two seconds faster than teammate Michael Lintelman, who finished with a time of 2:00.40.
Two-time reigning PSAC Swimmer of the Week David Bocci continued his winning ways in the 200 Fly, dominating the event and finishing with a time of 1:52.08, .13 seconds faster than the next swimmer.
In the long, distant 500 Free, sophomore Dominic Cortopassi paced the field, finishing with a time of 4:57.64. In the next event, Clarion finished with the top two finishers, Guckavan and Lintelman, touching the wall in 2:13.48, seven seconds before Lintelman touched the wall. The final swimming event of the night saw the Golden Eagles emerge victorious, with the quartet of Miller, Bocci, Cortopassi, and Cary barely edging out the quartet of Shippensburg by just .14 seconds.
Zach Schering had a huge night for the Golden Eagles diving team, finishing first in both events and setting a pool record in the process. In the one-meter dive event, he finished with a score of 306.23, and later on set a new pool record in the three-meter dive with a score of 339.30.
