AKRON, Ohio --- The Golden Eagle women's swimming & diving team opened their weekend at the Zippy Invitational hosted by Akron, checking in at sixth place in the loaded field after two events. Clarion posted 128 team points on the first day of action.
 
The night started with the 200 Medley Relay, with the Golden Eagles' "A" squad placing 13^th overall with a solid effort. The team of Joslyn Jurski, Ava Rosely, Hannah Greenway and Madelynn McTeer touched the wall in a time of 1:45.22, putting them second among non-Division I competitors in the field.
 
That was followed by a 12^th-place effort in the 800 Free Relay. This time, the foursome of Amanda Fetsko, Jordan Kutchak, Haley Miller and Jurski posted Clarion's best time of the season in the event, finishing the race with a time of 7:42.90.
 
Action will resume in Akron on Friday morning, with the prelims slated to start at 9 a.m.
