Clarion in fact swept through the regional tournament, winning nine straight sets and three straight matches to earn a berth in the Championship. The team enters with a 28-6 overall record and was the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament runner-up.
Who to Watch
Clarion boasts two players who earned national honors this week,
Cassidy Snider and
London Fuller. Snider was named a D2CCA First Team All-American and an AVCA Second Team All-American on Wednesday and leads all of NCAA Division II in total kills with 585 on the season. Fuller, meanwhile, earned AVCA All-America Honorable Mention honors after directing the Golden Eagle offense to one of the best outputs in Division II this season.
Clarion also features a number of other athletes who have made significant impacts during the course of the season. Libero
Abigail Selfridge earned All-PSAC West Second Team honors this year, while
Julia Piccolino and
Charlie Allison were both AVCA Atlantic Region All-Tournament picks.
