INDIANAPOLIS --- The NCAA released the second round of Division I coaches rankings for the 2022-23 season, as well as the initial RPI release of the year. The Golden Eagles' Will Feldkamp appear on both of those lists, while teammates Kyle Schickel and Ty Bagoly both appear in the RPI release.
 
The coaches ranking and RPI are two of several criteria that will be evaluated by the NCAA Division I Wrestling Committee during the at-large selection and seeding process along with head-to-head competition, quality wins, conference tournament placement, results versus common opponents and win percentage.

The first two rankings are used primarily for educational purposes to promote the selection criteria to coaches, student-athletes, media and fans. The third ranking will be the ranking that will be used by the NCAA Wrestling Committee to assist in determining the advance allocations to each qualifying tournament. The final ranking following conference tournaments will be used to provide the most accurate and up-to-date rankings to the committee as an important element of the selection criteria during the in-person selection meeting.
Feldkamp (Coaches: #28 / RPI: #15) has continued to roll since the initial coaches ranking, climbing up two spots from his previous rank of 30^th. He has won four straight matches since then, including one by fall to give him eight pins on the year. Feldkamp ranks among the nation's leaders in wins by fall across all weight classes.
 
Schickel (RPI: #29) fell out of the coaches ranking since January 19, but still ranks among the nation's leaders in RPI. He enters the final weekend of Mid-American Conference (MAC) action with a 12-9 overall record.
 
Bagoly (RPI: #31) climbs into the RPI ranking as he rides a nine-match win streak into this weekend's duals with Buffalo and Rider. The redshirt senior is 7-1 in MAC duals this year.
