Indoor Track & Field Season Nears End at Mount Union

ALLIANCE, Ohio --- The Golden Eagles track & field team wrapped up their final meet before the 2023 conference championships on Saturday, competing at the Mount Union Tune-Up in Alliance.
 
Leah Perry just missed out on a PSAC-qualifying time in the 60H, earning a spot in the race finals. The sophomore multi took fourth overall in the prelims but matched that exact number in the finals, this time taking second overall with another 9.69. Perry also took 10th in the Long Jump with a mark of 4.78m.
 
Shelly Jones placed second in the Shot Put, tossing the implement 13.55m to traily oly Ashland's Kelsey Kinsley. Emma Pesicka, meanwhile, placed 12th with a mark of 11.23m. Madison Brooks and Madison Foringer had fine days in the Weight Throw, placing seventh and 11th respectively with marks of 13.82m and 13.11m.
 
In the sprints, Hannah Redwood came up just short of a PSAC qualifying time, taking eighth in the 200m. The Golden Eagle freshman completed the lap around the track in 27.30, her second-fastest time of the season. Jenna Uncapher took 11th in the 400m with a time of 1:03.96, while Mackenzie Carver won the 500m with a time of 1:22.39. The junior distance runner topped the next-best placer by nearly two full seconds, as Otterbein's Rachel Bollo finished in 1:24.07.
 
In the distance events, Emily McDonnell took eighth in the field in the 800m, completing the circuit in a time of 2:31.59. Addie LaBombard and Autumn Pettinato went 6-7 in the 3000m, with the former finishing in 11:29.81 and the latter in 11:33.95.
 
Emily Lodge led the way in the Golden Eagles' jumping events, placing sixth in the Triple Jump with a mark of 9.98m.
