ALLIANCE, Ohio --- The Golden Eagle track & field team saw one of their own break a program record for the second time in as many weeks, as Clarion competed at the Jim Wuske Invitational hosted by Mount Union.

Shelly Jones broke her own record in the indoor Shot Put, taking second in the field with the best mark of her college career. One week after shattering the previous program record Jones was a standout again, this time tossing the implement 13.71m on her third attempt of the day. That topped her previous school record of 13.64m set a week ago at the Bison Open and Multi, and was once again an NCAA provisional qualifying mark. Jones finished second in the field behind only Slippery Rock's Sarah Corrie.

Elsewhere in the throws,
Madison Foringer took seventh in the field in the Weight Throw with a mark of 13.22m.

On the track, the Distance Medley Relay team of
Mackenzie Carver,
Emily McDonnell,
Karly McDonnell and
Gabby Kutchma paced the field, taking first place in the event with a time of 12:49.20. That topped the second-place team from Slippery Rock, who finished with a time of 12:56.17.

In the individual distance events,
Allison Farson took fourth in the 3000m, crossing the line in 11:27.19.
Courtney Kosanovic and
Autumn Pettinato both finished in the top-10, taking ninth and tenth respectively. Carver was the Golden Eagles' standout performer in the Mile run, taking second with a time of 5:22.93, while
Gabby Kutchma placed third in the 800m with a time of 2:29.80. The duo of
Addie LaBombard and
Abby Sullivan were the standouts in the 5000m, with LaBombard taking second with a time of 19:41.69 and Sullivan fourth with a 20:04.39.

Emily McDonnell competed in the 500m, taking third in the event with a time of 1:23.71.

In the jumping events,
Emily Lodge and
Delaney Beard both placed highly in the Long Jump, finishing with marks of 5.06m and 5.01m respectively. Lodge's leap represented the best mark of the season thus far for the Golden Eagles. Beard went on to have a good day in the Triple Jump, placing second in the event with a leap of 11.13m. She saved her best jump for last, hitting the 11.13m on her sixth attempt of the day.
