INDIANAPOLIS --- Zach Schering earned his third career All-America honors and his second of the season, highlighting the final day of the 2023 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships on Saturday with his performance in the Men's 1-Meter Dive.
The Golden Eagle sophomore started his day alongside his teammates Jordan Morret and Jack Beattie, with the trio competing for a spot in the finals and full All-American status on Saturday afternoon. Of those three, Schering was the top finisher, taking second in the preliminary round with a score of 510.70. Morret and Beattie took 10th and 11th place respectively, giving them All-America Honorable Mention honors. Morret posted a score of 436.10 and Beattie a mark of 435.00.
That pushed Schering on to the championship final on Saturday, and Schering delivered once again. He took sixth place in the field with a final score of 505.05, putting him on the All-American podium for the second time this season and third time in his career. Schering previously finished fourth in the 3-meter Dive on Wednesday.
The Golden Eagle men's swimming & diving team finished the week at the NCAA Championships in 15th place, with 76 team points.
